Kaiju No.8

The story takes place in Japan, where giant monsters called Kaiju are destroying people’s daily lives.

The main character, Kafka Hibino, whose town was destroyed when he was a child, promised to join the Defense Force with his childhood friend, Mina Amira, to annihilate the monsters.

However, at the age of 32, Kafka’s dream did not come true, and he went to work for Monster Sweeper Inc. as a clean-up crew for the monsters’ dead bodies after the battle.

Kafka, however, is told by part-time worker Reno Ichikawa that the Defense Force’s age limit has been raised, and he is urged to take the entrance exam again.
Kafka renews his determination, but a mysterious creature erodes his body and turns him into a monster, and he is dubbed Monster No. 8.

The story is new and interesting in that the main character transforms himself not into a hero or robot but into a large monster that looks like the enemy and saves people. The hero, who is pursued by his human allies but gradually gains their trust, is fascinating!

Dandadan

This kind of genre never seemed to exist before! A new genre with all the interesting elements: ghosts and occult, science fiction and aliens, psychic powers, battle action, and romantic comedy! The strong impact on the reader and the dizzying speed at which the story unfolds are also attractive.

Momo Ayase, a high school girl whose grandmother is a shaman, does not believe in the existence of aliens, but does believe in ghosts. Ken Takakura, a high school boy who is an occult-loving nerd, does not believe in ghosts, but does believe in aliens.

One day, Momo and Okarun hit it off by chance, but they find that they have opposite stances on the occult, and the two get into a tussle.

To settle matters, the two set out to prove each other wrong—Momo to a UFO hotspot and Okarun to a haunted tunnel! What unfolds next is a beautiful story of young love…and oddly horny aliens and spirits?

Chainsaw Man (Part2)

Chainsaw Man, one of the most popular manga series, is scheduled to be adapted into an anime in Japan this fall. A sequel has finally been serialized in Manga Plus, and it is one of the works that has been attracting the most attention in Japan.

The main character, Denji, who was living in extreme poverty to pay off his father’s debt, is tricked and killed by the yakuza who arranged his job, but he is resurrected as a chainsaw devil in exchange for the life of his partner, Pochita.

It is a dark fantasy in which he does not have big dreams and aims to defeat gun demons as a public security devil hunter in order to live a normal everyday life.

Oshi No Ko

A doctor, Goro Amemiya, is tasked with delivering famous Japanese idol Ai Hoshino’s baby; however, before her children are born he is murdered by her stalker. In a twist of events, he reincarnates as twins, with all of his memories.

After Ai’s death at the hands of a stalker, Ai’s son Aquamarine (Goro) swears to avenge her by killing the person, assumably his mysterious father, who leaked her information. He decides to become a successful actor in order to find his father, who is supposed to be in show business.

Unlike One Piece and Jujutsus Kaisen, these works are serialized only online, not in magazines.
However, they have also been adapted into anime and are as popular in Japan as the next representative manga work in Japan.
